Fang

Fang‘s playful way of thinking allows her to question about all social values. She enjoys jolting the social codes and representations ; in the same way Shanghaï enjoys jolting the traditional Chinese values and be in a position « upstream from the sea ». Fang, as to her, is « upstream from the mother ».

Upstream, she has been playing with the 2 by 2 meter gauze painted by Denise Sabourin, who had previously listened to a doctor at the hospital of Shanghai while he was doing an anamnesis for Fang.

Fang started playing with her children, then she played in the Tibetan Temple of Shanghaï, until she finally went to cover with the gauze the memorial sculpture of Shanghaï’s trading-post in the High Street of Dankin.
